According to Sumit Agarwal, senior project manager at RK Engineers Sales Limited, said the pollutants being dumped into the river will be capped after the sewer treatment plant is constructed here.

According to an article By Mohit Dubey in Economic times  Huge Sum invested in cleaning the Ganges like other previous plans have not yielded much results. It is not just the opposition which is out to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emotive connect with the river Ganga. Statistics show that very little has been done in the past two years of BJP rule - in spite of spending Rs 2,958 crore of the Rs 3,703 crore allocated - to improve the condition of the holy river.

Cleaning of the Ganga , which is a THE MOST BURNING ECOLOGICAL ISSUE in India seems to remainan unacomplished one. National Green Tribunal (NGT) have came down heavily on the National Mission on Clean Ganga (NMCG) and the Central Pollution Control board (CPCB) on the issue of Ganga cleaning and have expressed anger over the incompetence of the institutions responsible for cleaning if the Ganges.

Questionable is latest Ganga's pollution level data give by authorities

India Today in its article have highlighted wrong datas being presented by bodies involved in Ganga conservation. According to it 'The Centre Pollution Control Board in its latest report  has identified Ganga's four polluted stretches running into 550 km. But, a simple geographical look at these stretches shows the actual length is 926 km'. With some of the crucial data provided by India's apex pollution watchdog on Ganga's dying stretches being off the mark, fears abound that much of the money earmarked for the river's cleanup will go down the drain.
