Now a ministry of Ganga Rejuvenation in India

The Ganges is life line of India and worshiped by Indians as Mother. None of the rituals of Hindus is complete without the Holi water of the Ganges. In last few decades it has become subjected to severe pollution pressures and also emerged as a Political issue. Mr Nehru (the first prime minister of India )loved Ganga and Glorifdied her on numerous occassions. Rajeev Gangdhi ( late Prime Minster) also expressed deep concern on pollution of the Ganga and so on Mr Man Mohan Singh ( the last Prime Minster)

Finally the New Prime Minster  Mr Narender Modi and his party collegue Sushri Uma Bharti have expressed a strong desire to clean the Ganga river for reestablhing her last glory. It is for the first time in Indian history ( probably also in the world histry) that a seprate portfolio is being created only to clean a particilar river. Hopefully this zeal of new government and people continues for ever and finally a day come , when we see a crystal clear stream flowing throgh 2525 kms through india and holding few of the cities like perals of an ancieant indian civilisation.Unlike past it will require a strong will and particpation of public in state lead cleaning mission.
