According to R. Balaji Rajaet al (2011) Ganga water is believed to be self puricatory in nature which is the reason behind the uniqueness of it. The study was aimed at demonstrating the self puricatory action of Ganga water against a clinical pathogen such as Streptococcus with Millipore water as the standard.
