Prayagraj Kumbh Mela - Snaan (Bathing Dates)

The Kumbh Mela in Prayaag will last for 44 days. The important bathing dates in Kumbh Mela-2025 are as follows, officially Shahi Snaan (Royal bathing) dates will be declared by Akharaas a few months before the festival. Apart from Royal bathing dates, there are few other important bathing dates, when there are no large processions, but still, these dates have a special religious significance.

The Kumbh Mela contains many rituals. The holy dip in Kumbh's most important ritual. There are millions of pilgrims participating in the ceremony. People wash their sins by taking a dip in sacred water. Additionally, people are freed from the cycle of rebirth and reach Moksha via their own efforts and those of their forebears. The pilgrims also worship on the banks of the holy river, along with the bathing ceremony, and engage in speeches from various sadhus and saints.

In conclusion, Shahi Snan in Kumbh Mela is the main highlight and most important part. It is only after the Shahi Snan is complete that people are allowed to take the holy bath in the belief that by taking the dip after them. People will also gain from understanding the significance of the saints' thoughts and holy activities.

Prayagraj is one of the most sacred seven cities (Saptapuri) of India. In this town three is the confluence (Sangam) of three sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati and therefore it is a very scared town.

It is said that drops of Amrit (Elixir) fell in to the Sangam. Therefore a dip in the Brahmakund on this particular days during Kumbh Mela is considered very auspicious.
During the Kumbh Mela this town transforms into a large temporary spiritual gallery having beautifully designed Pandals (Pavilions) of different Akharas,Religious organizations and Ashrams.
