An Interesting report by UNEP exploring various issues like livlihoods , adoptations and lack of awareness about various factors envisaged in this issue. ''There needs to be a lot of research on (Asia’s) mountainglaciers. Truly, we know less about them than anyother place on Earth '' Glaciologist Lonnie G.Thompson, Ohio State University, Columbus (Bagla 2009). ' 'We don’t need to write the epitaph for the glaciers, but weneed a concentrated scientifi c and policy focus onthe Himalayan ecosystem since the truth is incredibly complex'' – Jairam Ramesh, India’s Environment Minister (Bagla 2009).
